You’re headed to Oz for five shows in nine days: sounds epic. How are your after-party strategies coming along?
There are no after-party strategies because there won't be any after-parties; it will be a nine day long party!!
What can we expect, sonically, from Chewy Chocolate Cookies on this trip?
It will be CCC's first time in Australia and the idea is to spread as much CCC's sweetness as possible all over your beautiful country - loads of original CCC's tracks, loads of exclusives and most of all loads of cookies!
Listening to your ChewyCast mixes; lots of quick edits and segues along with a real mixture of commercial tracks slammed together with underground beats - is this typical of a CCC set?
Yes it is. I try to have a good mix of crowd pleasing tracks and unknown gems; you'll go crazy dancing to tunes you know and be pleasantly surprised to discover something new.
Once out here, can we expect you to be hunting down local talent to include in your sets?
I'll keep my eyes peeled. I'll look for new amazing producers to include in CCC sets and maybe sign to CCC's label, so, if you think you got what it takes, bring your CDs to the parties.
Is there a funny anecdote behind your DJ moniker or do you really, really like chocolate cookies?
No funny anecdote, just a crazy idea. Anyway, who doesn't like chewy chocolate cookies?
Does baking and spending time in the kitchen take up much of your time away from the studio, club?
Not at all. My kitchen is my studio and my studio is my kitchen. I have the same approach with both food and music, that's why CCC's tunes are so tasty!
