His technique and skills in the booth have earned him support slots for the likes of The Prodigy, Roger Sanchez, Sasha and Ferry Corsten, but it's his drive and passion for fresh material that keeps him on his toes.
“Really, it's about keeping it interesting for myself and challenging,†he says. “Pulling records apart and putting them back together in a new way is critical these days. You really need to do something that's above and beyond. That's very much my focus and what keeps me excited and energised about rocking up to a club and doing the same thing.â€
Rocking up to clubs is something he'll be doing a lot of in weeks to come. A massive tour of the country, lasting three months, has him stretching across all borders and stopping at towns both large and small, promoting the CD compilation, ‘Raw 2011’.
“These days when you're selling a CD, you've really got to spread the word as far and wide as possible. I guess we're really lucky in that respect because the CD is driven by a radio station that covers a lot of different areas.â€
In collaboration with Onelove, Raw FM has produced its fifth instalment alongside Chris Fraser.
“It's a good snapshot of the stuff that I play in my DJ sets and a couple of my own productions, remixes and also a combination of that and the sort of records that are breaking through and getting a lot of airplay on the radio station which presents the CD.
“It's really exciting to finally get this one out. We only do one a year and finally dropping is an exciting time of the year.â€
VenturIng into this part of town is a highlight of the accomplished DJ's tour.
“I think Brisbane always had a really dedicated following. There's really a special energy up there, so I always look forward to getting back up there and tapping into that energy.â€
