ARENA MAY 25
Having attended various Basscreepz parties in my time, I knew I was going to be in for something special but I don’t think I could fully prepare myself for the all-encompassing aural assault that was Crissy Criss at the Arena. With a local line-up to rival the international pedigree (by marriage anyway) of Crissy Criss, one of the best sounding rigs I’ve heard in a while and the Brisbane bass massive out in force, the Arena was in full swing from the stroke of ten with locals Mickey Dubz and Dubnekta warming up their respective dancefloors for the main acts for the night. Local villain Kurrupt is always a sight to behold, tearing the main room apart while Ms Unsub with Amphetamines MC were melting faces with Lily's special brand of metal infused dubstep. Finally the time had come for the main act of the night and it was no disappointment.
Crissy’s set was an absolute wall of sound, full of fresh dubs and an unwavering sense of pure energy. Dropping more classics than my 200-word limit will allow me to mention, you can tell Crissy’s early start to DJing has sunk into his blood, with his control of the dancefloor nothing short of natural. Although a very tough act to follow, local boys PCD closed out the main room in style showing how much talent is pouring out of Brisbane these days. Big ups to the Creepz.
