What originally drew you into the world of DJing and production? Most of all, we love music in all of its forms, so it was quite a natural process to get involved in the game and start working on productions. We both were parts of several projects, from very different backgrounds and styles and then started with electronic music: most of all, hip hop and techno were the most exciting news in our early days, they opened our minds and it was like ‘hey we can do music too’. And that's how it started.
At what point did you know this was the career you wanted to pursue?
Well it started as a joke of course, then we saw the first results; radio airplays, compilations, top DJs playing our stuff. It was step by step living, every day something new, until you realise without even planning it that you are making music as your primary job, and that's the most amazing thing: living doing what you really love.
You’re venturing out to Australia for the first time, playing New Year’s Eve in Brisbane; what can we expect from DJs From Mars as the clock strikes 12?
First of all, it's great to come to Australia, this is one of the things we could never imagine when we started making music just for fun. About what you can expect: it's really unpredictable! You know you're dealing with aliens, so you don't really know their next step! One thing is sure, it’s going to be a bangin’ night!
You’re in the club, the place is packed, the dancefloor is going mad - is there a better scenario for a DJ? Surely not?
Definitely number one scenario, right after a jacuzzi packed with girls :)
Italy’s club scene; what is it like?
Really exciting in the last few years! Lots of new DJs are growing up and we often go to parties to listen to new stuff and sounds, especially in the underground clubs. There is a kind of magic, and that is where we go when we need new ideas.
DJs From Mars play The Blu Experience at Electric Playground and Magic City December 31 as well as East Nightclub January 8.
