POP GOES HUSKY
Influential US indie label Sub Pop (home to Nirvana and Soundgarden) have signed their first ever Australian band, Husky. The Melbourne group, who are now label mates with Fleet Foxes and Beach House, and were Unearthed by Triple J last year, will soon embark on a national tour that stops at The Zoo April 26 and the Soundlounge April 27.

AWESOME TIMES
After numerous festival appearances over the last year: The Dreaming, Big Day Out and Laneway, and a highly memorable performance at the inaugural Queensland Music Awards, Brisbane act The Medics are definitely one to watch throughout 2012. The band, who originally hail from north Queensland, will bring the awesome times to The Zoo on April 21.

PLAYING THE BLUES
If you're keen to see a premier harmonica player and internationally known blues artist, then this show is for you. Geoff Achison will pay a lightning visit to Queensland, playing at the Soundlounge March 9, the Royal Mail Hotel (1pm) and Joe's Waterhole in Eumundi (8.30pm) on March 10.

RETURN FROM SWEDEN
Tired of snow, Vikings, and endless flat pack furniture? So is whimsical indie pop crooner Timothy Carroll, who returns from the frostbitten homeland of IKEA (that’s Sweden for those playing along at home) with a show at Woodland on March 9. The psychedelic Planet Love Sound and Sam Cromack's My Own Pet Radio will be along on support duties.
