GC-Situation<< MIKE 'THE SITUATION' SORRENTINO

SITUATION CRITICAL
It’s not every day that a fashion retailer pays you a “substantial” amount of money not to wear their clothes; Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino can make such a claim after US retailer Abercrombie & Fitch felt the ‘Jersey Shore’ star’s “association with our brand could cause significant damage to our image”. ‘The Situation’ will be wearing whatever he likes when he heads to Vanity Nightclub on February 26 to meet and mingle with fans.

SLAM DUNK LIVE MUSIC
This Thursday sees the first national SLAM Day take place. Beginning in Melbourne two years ago as a rally to support live and local music, on Thursday February 23 venues across the country will be hosting their own events. Make sure to check out The Loft, The Palmy Café, The Cave and Surfers Paradise Beergarden as the likes of David Aurora, Mark Boulle and Josh Lovegrove will be performing live.

OLD BREAK
When members from Midnight Oil and The Violent Femmes unite to create the band The Break, there’s more leeway to throw around the 'supergroup' tag. The Break will bring their hefty years of experience to the SoundLounge Friday February 24, along with The Windy Hills. If you have recovered by Sunday February 26, you can catch Blue King Brown, also at the SoundLounge.

BALLIN’
There’s nothing like rubbing shoulders with elite athletes to make you reflect on your sluggish ways and swear to stick to your health kick. Head to East this Sunday, February 26, to catch players from the Gold Coast Blaze, who’ll be fresh off the court having played the Wollongong Hawks earlier in the day, as DJ Nino Brown takes to the decks alongside DJ Oscar, MC XY and DJ Stevie 2.
