There are no small visions for Marcus, he only thinks big. Within his sets he likes to take a step out of the ordinary to deliver a dramatic performance, delivering to the audience a versatile, dramatic story through his music.
“My sets tend to take a journey rather than doing the run of the mill sort of material. I like people to walk away with an experience,†he says.
Upon his return from the DJ haven of Ibiza, the inspired pro shows no signs of slowing down, expressing desires to expand his musical repertoire to include elements of African, tribal and progressive genres while still fusing in components of hip hop where possible.
“It keeps me on edge, it keeps the crowd on edge. It's like a movie - by the end of it you want to be able to say 'we've experienced an introduction, a main plot and a dramatic ending’.â€
The full-time DJ and producer admits his profession is not just about smashing out sets every weekend or spending his time on the beach with a smooth but stiff drink in his rare days off. Ever active in the duties of his job, there are still many things he's involved in.
“It's like private detective work, you're just trying to find the next big thing … but besides everything else at the moment, I can't get enough of Charlie Sheen.â€
It's quite obvious that while mega busy scoping for new beats, there is still time to be wooed by the Sheen.
The future for Marcus Knight is nothing short of visionary. In his sights are plans to involve himself with exciting new ventures that are headed in a number of different directions.
“Now it's more about wanting to be a little more adventurous, playing with an orchestra or an African tribal band. At the point I've got to in my career, to be able to work with the people I have, like Armand van Helden, Timbaland, Missy Elliot, that's been great but it's now sort of a personal challenge to stretch my musical creativity.â€
Be prepared for a major movie experience, but leave your 3D specs at home for this one. All warlocks welcome.
