Top five reasons why Roller Derby is better than Netball

1. It's full contact. No shuffling around, waving your arms in someone's face here. If you want someone to move, you hit them. Hard.
2. You get to drink beer and yell. Yell at the team you don't like, or for the team you do like. It's up to you!
3. The uniforms are 100 percent more awesome than pleated skirts, joggers and bibs.
4. It will simultaneously inspire and totally intimidate you. They say you should ‘be your own hero’, but man, if it doesn't look daunting.
5. There are no balls in roller derby.

The Sun State Roller Derby Grand Final takes place at the Beenleigh Arena Saturday November 24. Defiants battle the Riots in the main bout. Doors open 5.30pm.
